Senior Quantitative Consultant
Carlos Groen is a Senior Quantitative Consultant at VB Advisory with a solid academic background, holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Financial Econometrics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He specializes in developing, monitoring, and validating complex financial models, including IRB models, scorecards, private equity models, and fair value models. Additionally, Carlos has expertise in crafting Material Change Assessments (MCA) and Change Risk Assessments (CRA), ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Carlos is proficient in programming languages such as Python (including Databricks/PySpark), Matlab, and R, and excels in visualizing data through PowerBI dashboards. His technical acumen enables him to deliver precise and actionable insights to clients.
Outside of work, Carlos’s main passion is football, a sport he has played competitively alongside his studies. This experience has instilled discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities he brings to his professional life. In his free time, he also enjoys puzzling, gaming, and reading, as well as socializing with friends over a game of padel or a casual drink.
